On June 11, 2022, the Chian Federation, the Panchiaki Korais Society and the Chios Societies of America co-hosted an event Commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the Massacre of Chios in 1822.

Peter Gerazounis, President of the Panchiaki Korais Society gives a presentation beginning with background leading up to 1822 including detailed and dramatic depictions of what unfolded in the months of March through June of that year, where three quarters of the island’s population was either slaughtered or enslaved, finishing with the outcome bringing us through present day.
