Our Mission
The Panchiaki “Korais” Society brings together Chian Americans in a spirit of unity, pride, and purpose. As the oldest inclusive Chian organization in New York, we are driven by a deep commitment to give back—to each other, to our ancestral homeland, and to the next generation.
Through philanthropy, cultural and religious programs, and educational support, we honor the legacy of Chios and keep its traditions alive. We empower our members to stay rooted in their faith and heritage while inspiring them to lead with values shaped by history, community, and connection.
Together, we build bridges between the past and the future—preserving identity, strengthening bonds, and celebrating the enduring spirit of Chios.
Background
“Korais” was established in 1912 to create a lasting network of Greek Americans with Chian roots to preserve our heritage through the sponsorship and initiation of programs that support Hellenic culture, benefit our members and their families, and honor our ancestors.
The Society is a philanthropic organization based in the New York City metropolitan area.
Members represent accomplished men and women in the Chian-Greek American community.
Membership is open to anyone with Chian roots.
We are a chapter of and proudly associate with the CHIOS SOCIETIES OF THE AMERICAS & CANADA who perpetuate and celebrate our rich heritage throughout the Americas.
