For over 100 years, the organization has raised funds for charitable, religious, educational and philanthropic purposes with special attention on instilling the traditions, history and customs of the Island of Chios.

Ronald McDonald House Greek Division

Provides support services for families from Greece and Cyprus, as well as for Greek-Americans staying in New York City while battling cancer. Society has historically donated $500 during their annual "Walk of Love" walk-a-thon in May and $500 at Christmas.

University of the Aegean - University Unit of ChiosThe University Unit of Chios consists of the School of Business Studies.  Society has historically funded up to four 500 euro scholarships awarded in November each year.

Project Purple

Every 86 seconds someone is diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Project Purple’s mission is to find a cure for pancreatic cancer and improve the lives of patients through support, hope, and compassion.

In memory of our beloved friend and fellow Chian, Jimmy Pantelidis, The Panchiaki Korais Society proudly supports Project Purple.

We lost Jimmy to the disease in 2023 but not he waged a long, hard fought, and courageous battle and in his true spirit of generosity and selflessness, raised the level of awareness and support which will help others and hopefully lead to A World Without Pancreatic Cancer.

Autism Society of Chios

The Autism Society of Chios is a non-profit organization focused on improving the education and living conditions for individuals with autism on Chios and the North Aegean region. Its mission is to raise community awareness about autism through various events such as sports, music, art exhibitions, and informational sessions. The society aims to establish a boarding guesthouse and a day center to support autistic individuals with housing and creative activities. The Panchiaki Korais Society recently donated $10,000 to the fundraising campaign organized by Chios Cleveland and Chios Societies of America to fund the design of the Center, the construction of which will be funded by ESPA.

ESPA stands for Εθνικό Στρατηγικό Πλαίσιο Αναφοράς (National Strategic Reference Framework) in Greek. It is the European Union's framework for financing development projects in member states, including Greece, under the EU's cohesion policy. Through this framework, funds are allocated for infrastructure projects, business support, innovation, and other initiatives aimed at promoting economic growth and reducing regional disparities.

Παγχιακού Συλλόγου Α.μεΑ (Άτομα με Αναπηρία)

The Center for People with Disabilities in Chios was founded in 1995 with the aim of providing assistance and social integration for those with all categories of disabilities on the island.

It’s Mixed Daycare and Sheltered Workshop Program aims to provide an environment where these individuals can learn and use productive vocational skills where because of the severity of their disability find it difficult, if not impossible, to be successful in a free labor market.

In 2023, The Panchiaki Korais Society, funded the construction of a nursery or Greenhouse where people with disabilities will have the opportunity to be employed working with flowers, seasonal vegetables, cultivation of herbs, and cultivation of mastic trees.

Zorzis Mihalinos Care Home

The Zorzis Mihalinos Care Home was founded in 1962 with the aim to provide shelter and care to elders in need. It is the only nonprofit care home in the town of Chios and one of two on the island. The Home can accommodate up to 60 senior residents. Currently 51 elders reside, 30% of which are bedridden. The Zorzis Mihalinos Care Home implements its statutory mission by accepting a higher than usual percentage (10%) of elders who are unable to contribute in any financial way.
