Chios Legacy Gala 2025
On January 11, 2025, we proudly kicked off our 113th year with our inaugural Chios Legacy Gala. Our chosen theme, "Honoring Heritage, Empowering Minds," serves as a fitting and meaningful description of our enduring mission. By continuing to fund charitable, philanthropic, and educational endeavors, we honor not only our heritage but also the predecessors who so diligently paved the way for our current progress. In this spirit, we are committed to paying it forward by empowering young minds and actively supporting the education of our next generation, echoing the values of society’s esteemed namesake, Adamantios Korais. During this special evening, we awarded a total of 22 Scholarships through our Educational Scholarship Program. We also presented the James Pantelidis Memorial Scholarship to Tula Nicholson and the Aristotle Mirones Sr. Memorial Scholarship to the Like a Daisy Foundation, which provides invaluable support to individuals with disabilities and special needs. Furthermore, we extended our assistance by awarding grants to three communities that host Greek language programs: St. Demetrios of Astoria, Holy Cross Stars Academy of Whitestone, and Holy Trinity of Hicksville. Over 350 individuals gathered at Leonards Palazzo of Great Neck to enjoy a memorable evening filled with fellowship, dancing, and joy. The music for the night was graciously provided by Powerstation Entertainment, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.
