The Panchiaki Korais Society Of New York is a philanthropic organization of descendants from the island of Chios, Greece.
We are a chapter of and proudly associate with the CHIOS SOCIETIES OF THE AMERICAS & CANADA who perpetuate and celebrate our rich heritage throughout the Americas.
Chios Legacy Gala - 2026
Join us on January 10, 2026, as we celebrate the 114th Anniversary of the Panchiaki “Korais” Society of New York at Leonard’s Palazzo of Great Neck.
This unforgettable evening will be filled with fellowship, fine dining, lively music, and dancing, as we honor our community’s spirit through the presentation of educational scholarships, community grants, and the newly reimagined “Miss Chios” Legacy Ambassador Program.

“Miss Chios” Legacy Ambassador Program
For generations, the Miss Chios Pageant has held a special place in our community, celebrating the pride, beauty, and cultural spirit of our Chian heritage. Many of us remember how it brought families together, inspired our youth, and gave young women the opportunity to represent Chios with grace and dignity.
Today, we are proud to announce the reintroduction of this cherished tradition, reimagined for a new era, as the Miss Chios Legacy Ambassador Program.
Commemoration of the Liberation of Chios
On November 16, 2025, members of the Panchiaki Korais Society and the Chian Federation came together for our annual commemoration of the Liberation of Chios. On November 11, 1912, Greek forces launched the campaign that, over the course of 40 days, ended centuries of Ottoman occupation and restored freedom to our beloved island.

On October 9, 2025, our young adults held a social event in Astoria bringing together Chian young adults to hang out, meet new people, and enjoy a fun night together.
A Summer of Honor and Heritage in Chios
This summer in Chios was especially meaningful for the Panchiaki Korais Society of New York, as we were humbled to receive an Honorary Distinction from the Municipality of Chios in recognition of our longstanding commitment to preserving the Greek language, culture, and heritage within the diaspora. Surrounded by the warmth of our homeland, this honor reaffirmed the deep bonds that unite Chios and our community abroad.

Chios Summer Warm-Up
On June 5, 2025, our young adult members organized a meet-and-greet at The Bonnie in Astoria. It was a festive happy hour filled with connection, celebration, and excitement as we kicked off the summer and their shared love for Chios - together.

Chios Legacy Gala
We celebrated the Panchiaki Korais Society’s 113th anniversary at our newly rebranded Chios Legacy Gala: Honoring Heritage, Empowering Minds. This special event took place on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Leonard's Palazzo in Great Neck, New York.
The Chios Legacy Gala highlights our enduring commitment to preserving the rich traditions and history of Chios. Together, we aim to inspire and educate our members, ensuring the legacy of Chios thrives for future generations.
