111th Anniversary Dinner Dance

Panchiaki "Korais" Society of New York held our 111th Anniversary Dinner Dance on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Leonard's Palazzo of Great Neck. Over 300 people were in attendance. Power Station Entertainment kept us dancing all evening.

We honored our esteemed past-president Captain Stelios Tatsis for his many years of service to our society.

His grandaughter Mikaela Astel gave a beautiful performance.

We acknowledged the 19 recipients of our 2022 Panchiaki Korais Educational Scholarship Program.

A $10,000 donation was presented that will go towards the design for the construction of a new facility for the Chios Autism Society.

A $15,000 donation was presented to the A. Fantis School in Brooklyn to support their Greek Language Program.

A $15,000 donation (first half of a $30,000 pledge) was presented to the Holy Resurrection Church in Brookville to support their construction project which includes the addition of a new gymnasium, expansion of their fellowship hall but most importantly the expansion of their classrooms which house their Greek Language Program.

Once again, our dance committee consisted of Toula Reynolds, Maria Xydas, Anna Yiatrou and Christine Gerazounis who put together this magnificent event.

We also launched our 2023 Education Scholarship Program where we plan to award up to four(4) $2500 scholarships to students graduating high school or are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. Depending on the number of applicants and our ability to do so, we hope to match or do better than what we have in previous years in support of our students and honor the legacy of those who came before us as well as the namesake of our organization Adamantios Korais who’s life’s work was promoting the importance of education to sustain Greece and its heritage.
