A Summer of Honor and Heritage in Chios

Summer 2025 in Chios was especially meaningful for the Panchiaki Korais Society of New York, as we were humbled to receive an Honorary Distinction from the Municipality of Chios in recognition of our longstanding commitment to preserving the Greek language, culture, and heritage within the diaspora. Surrounded by the warmth of our homeland, this honor reaffirmed the deep bonds that unite Chios and our community abroad. We were graced with a performance by the Chios Philharmonic Music Academy who performed their τελική συναυλία / final concert of the season in our honor.

We also took the opportunity to visit the Korais Library, the AMEA Gefyra Facility/Greenhouse and the Zorzis Mihalinos Nursing home.
